How to Use Emergency Lights and Sirens on the Fire Truck
Activating Lights and Siren
Once you're seated in the 1973 Ward LaFrance P80 Ambassador fire truck, the emergency systems are controlled by keybinds rather than right-clicking. Look in your Controls menu under the
Immersive Vehicles category for entries like *Toggle Lights*, *Toggle Siren*, and *Cycle Siren Tone*. Press the assigned key while seated to switch them on and off.
Siren Behavior
IV sirens typically have multiple tones (wail, yelp, hi-lo) that you cycle through with a dedicated key. The lights and siren are independent, so you can run lights-only for a silent approach or both together for a full emergency response. The siren only plays while the vehicle is occupied and the engine is running.
Practical Tips
- Emergency lights draw from the vehicle's electrical system; if the battery is drained the lights may not work. Keep the engine running while parked on scene.
- The fire truck seats two, so a passenger can ride along and operate equipment.
- If lights or siren don't respond, exit and re-enter the vehicle to reset the control state, and confirm the keybinds aren't conflicting with another mod.
- Use the siren sparingly on servers — some servers mute or restrict it.
