How to Make a Painting or Graffiti Glow in Immersive Paintings
Using the Glowing Variants
The mod adds Glowing Painting and Glowing Graffiti as separate items from the regular versions. Craft the glowing variant instead of the plain one, then place it the same way. A glowing painting emits light and stays visible in dark rooms, caves, or at night, which makes it useful for signs, murals in unlit builds, and decorative lighting.
Switching an Existing Painting
If you already placed a normal painting, you generally cannot toggle it to glow in place — break it and place the glowing version instead. The image assignment works identically: right-click to open the GUI, pick your file, and set the size and offset. Because the glowing block still uses the same image folder, your existing files carry over.
Graffiti vs Painting
Graffiti is placed flat against a surface and is meant for tags, logos, and smaller artwork, while paintings behave more like framed pictures. Both have glowing counterparts. For a lit sign effect, use glowing graffiti on a wall; for a backlit picture frame look, use a glowing painting. Keep in mind that many glowing blocks in one area can affect the light level and your framerate.
