Stop Lag Spikes When Many Items Drop at Once

The Item Lag Problem

When farms harvest crops, mobs drop loot, or you break blocks in bulk, hundreds of item entities suddenly appear. Your game tries to update all of them simultaneously, causing severe lag spikes that freeze your screen for seconds.

How the Entity Scheduler Fixes This

Immersive Optimization Edition spreads item updates across multiple ticks instead of processing them all at once. This means:

  • Item entities still render and move normally
  • Hoppers and collection systems work at full speed
  • No frame drops when loot explodes from mobs
  • Stable TPS even during massive harvests

What Changes

Nothing about your farm's behavior changes. Items still:

  • Drop from mobs and blocks
  • Flow into hoppers and chests
  • Despawn after five minutes
  • Stack and combine normally

The only difference is your game no longer stutters. The scheduler handles the processing load invisibly, keeping your frame rate and TPS smooth regardless of how many items are in the world.

Result

You can harvest your crops, kill mobs, and break blocks without fear of lag spikes interrupting your gameplay.
