Using IMBlocker with Multiple Languages and Switching Between Them

How IMBlocker Handles Multiple Input Methods

If you use more than one input method — for example, a Chinese IME and a Japanese IME, or a Korean IME alongside English — IMBlocker needs to know which one to activate. By default it activates whatever IME your system currently has selected, so the key is managing your system-level IME order.

Practical Setup

  • Set your primary IME as default: In your operating system's language settings, make your most-used IME the default for the game. IMBlocker will activate that one when you enter chat.
  • Use system shortcuts to switch: Keep your OS-level IME switch shortcut (commonly a key combination) handy. IMBlocker doesn't replace this — it only toggles the active IME on and off.
  • Avoid overlapping hotkeys: If your IME switch key is also bound to a Minecraft action, you may trigger both. Rebind one of them.
  • Per-screen behavior: Some configs allow different IMEs for different screens. If you write signs in one language and chat in another, set this up in the config.

Test each language by opening chat, typing a short phrase, closing chat, and confirming the IME deactivates before you move.
