Finding Ground Settlements

Forts and military camps spawn across forests and plains biomes. Look for tall watchtowers, wooden palisades, and fortified structures at ground level. These bases are easier to locate than mountain or ocean structures since they're visible across flat terrain. Scout from a distance before engaging.

Base Layout Strategy

Ground settlements typically include watchtowers (clear these first for vantage points), barracks, stables, and industrial areas like lava extractors and smelteries. Clear the perimeter first, then work inward. Watchtowers provide high ground—eliminate archers there before advancing. Stables may contain rideable mounts; decide whether to tame or eliminate them.

Collecting Industrial Loot

Lava extractors and smelteries contain valuable materials and rare crafting stations. These areas often have fewer enemies but more environmental hazards like flowing lava. Bring fire resistance potions or wear appropriate armor. Small details like abandoned carts, wells, and ritual totems may contain hidden chests with bonus loot. Search thoroughly before leaving.
