How to Rescue Villagers and Allays from the Arena

Locating Prisoners

Villagers and Allays are held in cages throughout the arena. Look for wooden structures with trapped mobs inside—some cages hang from tall poles in the central area. These prisoners are your objective and freeing them is rewarding.

Breaking Cages and Freeing Mobs

Approach each cage and break the wooden blocks to open it. The trapped mobs will be released. Villagers may wander or attempt to return to their normal behavior. Allays will begin following you once freed.

Protecting Freed Mobs

After breaking a cage, clear nearby enemies before the freed mobs are killed. Create a safe path back toward the arena exit or establish a temporary safe room. If you're rescuing multiple prisoners, consider clearing an entire section first, then freeing all cages in that area at once.

Freed Allays are particularly useful—they can collect items for you. Lead them to safety and they'll become valuable companions for your exploration and looting efforts.
