Efficiently Gather Resources from the Frozen Landscape
Planning Your Gathering Routes
Start by mapping out nearby resource locations from the castle. Snow terrain typically contains wood from scattered trees, stone from exposed cliffs, and ice blocks from frozen water. Mark these locations with torches or tall pillars so you can find them again.
Harvesting Wood and Stone
Collect wood from the sparse trees around the castle first—you'll need it for tools and fuel. Use a stone pickaxe to mine exposed stone from mountainsides and cliffs. Avoid mining ice blocks early; focus on stone and wood until you have better equipment.
Mining for Minerals
Dig down carefully from stone deposits to find coal, iron, and deeper ores. Create a simple mining shaft by digging straight down, placing torches on one wall to mark your path back up. Always carry a water bucket to prevent fall damage and lava encounters.
Safe Transport
Make multiple trips rather than overloading yourself. Store gathered materials in chests at collection points before returning to base. This prevents losing everything if you die far from home and lets you gather more efficiently across multiple sessions.
