Defend Your Base and Survive the First Nights

Preparing Before Nightfall

Before sunset, ensure your chosen castle room is fully lit with torches—mobs cannot spawn in well-lit areas. Close all doors and seal any large openings with temporary walls or doors. Stock your room with a bed, food, and tools before darkness falls.

Creating a Safe Room

Build a small enclosed space within your base room as a last-resort shelter. This 3×3 area with a door should contain your bed and some food.

Monitoring Threats

Stay alert during night hours. Listen for mob sounds and watch for shadows moving outside lit areas. Keep weapons and armor nearby at all times.

Expanding Defenses

Once you have better tools and armor, build defensive structures around the castle: walls, watchtowers, or trenches to slow mob approach. Create well-lit pathways between the castle and village so you can travel safely at night if needed. Gradually improve your defenses as you gather more resources.
