Maximizing Flight Speed

The Armor Weight Problem

Heavy armor significantly slows your maximum flying speed. The more protective gear you wear, the slower you move through the air. This penalty is intentional to balance the freedom of flight.

Removing Armor for Speed

Before a long flight, temporarily remove heavy armor pieces like chestplates and leggings. Store them in a chest or drop them safely, then equip your wings. You'll notice a dramatic speed increase. Retrieve your armor once you land.

Adjusting Speed Settings

The mod allows you to customize the armor speed penalty in its configuration settings. If you find the slowdown too severe, you can reduce or disable this penalty entirely, letting you fly faster even in full armor.

Strategic Flying

For combat or exploration in dangerous areas, keep your armor on despite the speed reduction. For pure travel between safe locations, strip down to maximize speed. Plan your route based on whether protection or velocity matters more for that particular journey.
