Enhancing Shadow Depth for Better Block Definition

Locate Shadow Settings

Open your shader configuration menu and find shadow-related options. These typically control shadow distance, softness, and intensity. HyShaders Fantasy allows you to customize how shadows fall across terrain and structures.

Increase Shadow Distance

Raise the shadow render distance to cast shadows farther from your character. This creates more defined depth across the landscape, making hills, valleys, and building features more visually distinct. Longer distances demand more processing power.

Adjust Shadow Softness

Soft shadows create a more natural, fantasy-like appearance by blending shadow edges smoothly. Hard shadows are sharper but less atmospheric. Choose based on your preferred aesthetic and available performance headroom.

Test in Various Lighting

Examine shadows during different times of day—morning, noon, and sunset each produce different shadow angles and intensities. Build a small structure to see how shadows define its shape and depth. If performance drops, reduce shadow distance slightly while keeping softness settings that appeal to you.
