Understand How Distance Affects Colors and Sharpness

Observe the Color Shift

Hyperopia Shaders applies cool blue tones to distant objects as part of its depth illusion. Walk from a forest into an open area and notice how far mountains take on a slightly cooler hue compared to nearby blocks. This mimics atmospheric perspective.

See the Sharpness Enhancement

The shader adds extra clarity to faraway landscapes so they remain visually distinct despite the inverted focus. This counteracts the natural softening that distance causes, making distant villages and peaks pop.

Test Across Different Biomes

The effect varies by terrain. In dense forests, the blur on nearby trees creates a tunnel effect. In open plains, you'll see the sharpness enhancement on distant mountains more clearly. Snowy biomes show the color shift most obviously.

Recognize the Depth Trick

Your brain interprets sharp, cool-toned distant objects as "far away" and blurry, warm-toned near objects as "close," even though this reverses normal vision. This psychological effect is what makes the shader feel surreal and disorienting.

Use It for Navigation

Once familiar with the effect, use the sharp distant landmarks to navigate. Faraway structures always remain clear reference points.
