Optimize Video Settings to Work Best With Hydrogen

Adjust Graphics for Maximum Benefit

While Hydrogen Modpack handles backend optimization, your video settings still matter. To get the best performance:

1. Open Options → Video Settings

2. Set Graphics to Fast (not Fancy)

3. Lower Render Distance to 8–12 chunks if you're on a low-end PC

4. Disable Smooth Lighting or set it to Minimum

5. Turn off Clouds and Particles (or set particles to Minimal)

6. Disable V-Sync if you want uncapped FPS

Fine-Tune for Your Hardware

Hydrogen works best when paired with conservative settings:

• Low-end PC: Render distance 6–8, Fast graphics, minimal particles
• Mid-range PC: Render distance 12–16, Fast graphics, normal particles
• High-end PC: You'll see the smoothness benefit even at higher settings

Start conservative and increase settings gradually while monitoring FPS. The modpack handles the heavy lifting, but your settings control what it has to render. Relaunch the game after changing settings for changes to take full effect.
