Plan Your Farm Layout Around Doubled Loot
Accounting for Increased Output
When you double all entity loot, your mob farms produce twice as much material. This requires planning adjustments to prevent overflow and wasted drops.
Design Considerations
Increase storage capacity. A farm that fills one double chest in an hour now fills two. Build larger storage systems or add hoppers that sort and distribute drops to multiple chests.
Optimize collection systems. Ensure your hoppers and collection mechanisms can handle doubled flow rates. A single hopper line might bottleneck; consider parallel collection paths.
Plan for item despawn. If your farm produces more items than your collection system can handle, excess drops despawn after 5 minutes. Test your farm's output and adjust collection speed accordingly.
Use sorting systems. With doubled drops, a sorting system becomes more valuable. Separate bones from rotten flesh, string from gunpowder—this lets you manage overflow more effectively.
Consider mob cap management. Doubled loot means faster farm cycles. Ensure your farm's spawn rates and mob cap settings align with your collection capacity to avoid wasted potential.
