Customize Villager Dialog and Conversations

Access Dialog Configuration

Locate the dialog or chat configuration file in your mod's config directory. This file controls what villagers say when you interact with them and what conversations appear between NPCs.

Edit Conversation Files

Open the dialog file in a text editor. You'll find entries for different interaction types—greetings, trades, idle chatter, and responses to player actions. Each entry typically follows a structured format with dialogue text and conditions for when it appears.

Add or Modify Dialogue

Add new lines of dialogue or replace existing ones. You can create context-specific conversations (villagers greeting each other, reacting to time of day, or responding to proximity). Keep formatting consistent with existing entries to avoid errors.

Test Your Changes

Save the file and reload your world. Interact with villagers to hear your new dialogue. If conversations don't appear, check the config file for syntax errors or formatting issues. The mod's settings menu may also let you preview or test dialogue directly.
