Building Large Jigsaw Structures Without Hitting Depth Limits
Why Jigsaw Assemblies Fail in Vanilla
Vanilla Jigsaw blocks stop generating after a set recursion depth and refuse to connect pieces beyond a fixed distance. On big multi-part builds — sprawling villages, dungeons, or modular complexes — this means outer pieces silently never appear. This mod removes both the depth limit and the distance limit on structure features and pools, so a jigsaw network can keep expanding as far as your pieces are placed.
Assembling a Deep Structure
1. Lay out your Jigsaw blocks with matching target pools and target names so each piece knows what it connects to.
2. Set the max depth field on your starting Jigsaw block high enough to cover every layer of your build. With the vanilla cap gone, you can enter a value that reaches your outermost pieces.
3. Space your pieces out. The old distance restriction no longer cuts off far-flung connectors, so long corridors and distant wings will still generate.
4. Test with the Generate button in a Jigsaw block's interface to preview the assembly before committing it to the world.
If pieces still do not connect, the problem is usually a mismatched target name rather than a limit.
