Reading Fall Distance in Real Time

Understanding the HUD Display

The How High Is It Mod displays two key measurements on your screen while falling:

• Distance Fallen: Shows how far you've already dropped from your starting point
• Total Drop: Displays the remaining distance to the solid block directly beneath you

Using This Information

Watch the HUD while jumping or falling to see these values update in real time. This is useful for:

• Judging safe fall heights: Know exactly when you'll take damage based on your current position
• Planning parkour routes: See if a gap is survivable before committing to the jump
• Avoiding fall damage: Identify when you're approaching dangerous heights and adjust your movement

The display updates continuously, so you can make split-second decisions mid-fall. Pay attention to both numbers—the distance fallen tells you how much damage you'll take, while the total drop helps you plan your next move (like placing water or blocks to break your fall).

The mod works in all game modes and doesn't require any configuration to start using.
