Managing Multiple Players with Different Difficulty Levels

Understanding Per-Player Difficulty

Each player's HostileMobs score is independent. A new player and a veteran can explore the same area and encounter mobs of vastly different strength. This creates unique challenges in multiplayer worlds.

Coordinating Exploration

When exploring together, the veteran player will face significantly harder mobs than their companion. Plan group activities with this in mind—difficult dungeons or dangerous biomes may be manageable for the experienced player but deadly for newcomers. Consider separating tasks based on individual capability.

Shared Bases and Defenses

Build defensive structures that protect against the highest difficulty level present in your group. This ensures the base remains safe even when the most experienced player is nearby. Overbuilding defenses is safer than underbuilding.

Progression Pacing

New players should focus on early-game goals while veterans tackle harder content. This prevents frustration and allows both playstyles to coexist. Experienced players can farm dangerous mobs for rare drops while newcomers build and gather safely.
