Spotting Nests in the World

Hornet nests generate naturally throughout the Overworld as part of normal world generation. They appear as structures where hornets congregate and spawn. Listen for intense buzzing sounds—this is your best indicator that a nest is nearby.

Visual Identification

Look for clusters of hornets flying in a localized area. They tend to hover around their nest location rather than roaming far. The nest itself is a physical structure in the world that serves as their spawning point.

Mapping Hornet Locations

• Mark nest locations on a map or in your mental geography
• Note which biomes or terrain types seem to have higher hornet density
• Plan travel routes that avoid known nest areas
• If you need to pass through hornet territory, do so quickly and carefully

Nest Behavior

Hornets will defend their nest aggressively. Getting close to a nest guarantees an attack. If you discover a nest blocking your path, consider traveling around it rather than through it, especially on higher difficulties where poison damage is more severe.
