Routing Items with Hopper Gadgetry
Hopper Gadgetry extends vanilla hopper behavior with a small set of logistics blocks and minecarts. The
Chute and
Duct are the two block forms: use them to direct item flow along a route rather than relying on a single hopper's output. The
Grated Hopper is the filtering variant, letting you control which items pass through instead of accepting everything.
The two minecarts mirror these roles on rails. The
Chute Minecart carries items as a mobile
transport unit, while the
Grated Hopper Minecart combines pickup with filtering while it travels. Together these let you build sorting lines, feed machines from a distance, or keep unwanted items out of a chest without redstone complexity.
Start simple: place a
Grated Hopper where you want filtering, run a
Duct or
Chute to the destination, and add a minecart only when the route needs to move.
