Harvesting Resources from Trench Ecosystems
Finding Coral and Sea Life
Trenches host coral reefs and aquatic life throughout their depth. Coral clusters grow on trench walls and floors, providing decorative blocks and dye materials. Use a silk touch pickaxe to collect coral without breaking it. Explore different depth levels—coral variety changes as you go deeper.
Mining Blocks Safely
Trenches contain standard stone and mineral blocks alongside unique formations. Mine carefully to avoid triggering cave-ins or disturbing the trench structure. Bring a pickaxe suited to the block type you're harvesting. Work systematically through sections rather than randomly excavating.
Managing Water Flow
When mining, water will flow into excavated spaces. Use sponges to absorb water or place blocks strategically to control flow. Create temporary air pockets with blocks to work more efficiently. Always have an escape route planned in case water overwhelms your workspace. Collect sea grass and kelp as you work—these grow naturally in trenches and have various uses.
