Building Underwater Bases in Trenches
Choosing Your Location
Select a trench section with stable walls and interesting terrain features. Scout the area first to identify flat surfaces or natural alcoves where you can build. Avoid areas with heavy mob spawning or unstable overhangs.
Constructing Your Base
Use waterlogged blocks or solid materials to create your structure. Build air pockets by placing blocks and then removing water with sponges or by using a conduit to create a breathable zone. Reinforce walls to prevent water pressure from collapsing your build.
Lighting and Atmosphere
Place light sources throughout your base to prevent mob spawning and create visibility in the dark trench environment. Glow blocks or lanterns work well underwater. Consider building observation windows to view the surrounding trench ecosystem and coral formations. Connect multiple chambers with tunnels for easier navigation, and establish a clear entrance route back to the surface.
