Optimize Shader Performance on Lower-End Computers

Adjust Quality Settings

Hola Blocks Shaders includes performance options to keep your game smooth. Access the shader settings through your graphics options menu. Look for quality presets—most players on mid-range systems should start with Medium or High rather than Ultra.

Reduce Shadow and Lighting Detail

The shader's main performance cost comes from shadow rendering and dynamic lighting calculations. Disable or lower shadow distance if you notice frame drops. Reduce the render distance slightly if needed—this won't significantly impact the shader's visual benefits, which work best at close to medium range anyway.

Disable Optional Features

Many shader packs let you toggle specific effects independently. Turn off volumetric lighting or ambient occlusion if your computer struggles. The core medieval aesthetic remains strong even with these features disabled.

Monitor Your Frame Rate

Use F3 (Java Edition) to watch your FPS while adjusting settings. Aim for stable 30+ FPS in survival mode. If you're still dropping below that, lower your render distance or switch to a lighter preset. The shader is designed to run smoothly—if it isn't, your settings are too high for your hardware.
