Adjust Water Reflections and Wave Movement
Finding Water Settings
High Frames Plus Shaders enhances water with reflective surfaces and natural wave animation. You can fine-tune these effects to match your desired look and performance.
Configuring Water Effects
Access your shader options menu and locate the Water section. Here you'll find separate controls for reflections and wave intensity.
Increase reflection quality to make water bounce more light and show clearer sky reflections—ideal for scenic areas like oceans and lakes. Reduce this setting if you want subtler water or need every frame to count.
Adjust wave movement speed and height to control how animated the water surface appears. Higher values create more dramatic, rolling waves suitable for stormy or dynamic scenes. Lower values produce calmer, gentler water movement.
Best Practices
Test your changes near different water bodies—oceans, rivers, and small ponds may look different depending on settings. Reflective water is most striking during sunset or sunrise when the sky is colorful. Consider your hardware; older computers may benefit from reduced reflection quality while maintaining the shader's speed advantage.
