Spot Decoy Switches and Identify the Real Exit Trigger
Understand Decoy Mechanics
Not every switch or button-like block opens the door. Some rooms contain multiple interactable objects, but only one is the correct trigger. Right-clicking a decoy does nothing—no sound, no door opening, no feedback. This is intentional; decoys test your observation and persistence.
Look for Visual Differences
Examine switches carefully for subtle distinctions:
- Color or texture variation – The real switch may have a slightly different appearance
- Positioning – Real switches often sit in less obvious spots than decoys
- Material type – One switch might be stone while decoys are wood, or vice versa
Test Methodically
When you find multiple switch-like objects, right-click each one in sequence. Watch for the door to open or listen for activation sounds. Keep track of which switches you've tested to avoid rechecking.
Trust Your Instincts
If a switch seems too easy to find or sits in an obvious location, it's likely a decoy. The real switch typically requires closer inspection or is hidden in an unintuitive spot. Continue searching even after finding an easy candidate.
