How Herd Panic Works in the Herds Panic Mod

The Herds Panic Mod changes how mobs react when one of their own is hurt. In vanilla Minecraft, hitting a mob usually only affects that single mob. With this mod, attacking a mob causes nearby mobs of the same herd to become scared and flee from you.

This means you cannot simply pick off animals one at a time while the rest stand around. Once you land a hit, the surrounding herd scatters, making it harder to catch them all in one spot.

The mod is configurable, so you can adjust how the panic behavior works to suit your playstyle. The exact options are set through the mod's configuration, letting you tune how mobs respond when a herd member is attacked.

This adds a small layer of realism: mobs behave more like real animals that react to danger as a group rather than ignoring an attack on their neighbor.
