Prevent Health Loss on Death

Understanding Death Mechanics

By default, some mod configurations reset your health progression when you die, returning you to vanilla maximum health. You can disable this to keep your hearts permanently.

Disable Health Reset on Death

1. Open your mod configuration file in the config/ folder.

2. Search for the death reset option—typically labeled something like "reset health on death" or "persistent health."

3. Set it to false/disabled to keep your earned hearts after dying.

4. Save and restart your game.

What This Means

  • Your extra hearts remain even after you respawn.
  • You won't lose progression from dying to mobs or environmental damage.
  • This is ideal for long-term survival worlds where you want permanent character growth.

Alternative: Keep Reset Enabled

If you prefer a hardcore challenge, leave reset enabled. This forces you to re-earn health through XP grinding after each death, adding stakes to survival.
