Reduce Performance Impact from Floating Health Bars
Disable Floating Bars in Crowded Areas
If you experience lag during large mob fights, consider disabling floating health bars entirely or only showing them for nearby entities. Set a shorter render distance for floating bars so they only appear when mobs are close.
Lower Update Frequency
Health bars don't need to update every frame. Check if your mod settings allow you to reduce how often bars refresh their appearance. Less frequent updates mean less processing power used.
Simplify Visual Effects
Disable or reduce:
- Damage number animations (these can stack quickly in big fights)
- Smooth bar transitions if they cause stuttering
- Armor indicator displays if you don't need them
- Color gradients in favor of solid colors
Optimize Mob Filtering
Only show health bars for mobs you actually care about. Disable displays for passive animals or distant hostile mobs you won't engage. This significantly reduces the number of bars being rendered simultaneously.
Monitor Performance
After adjusting settings, fight mobs and watch your frame rate. If performance improves, you've found a good balance. If it's still slow, disable more features until gameplay feels smooth.
