Rename a Head and Keep Its Custom Name When Placed

Using an Anvil to Rename Heads

This mod allows you to rename player heads, mob heads, and modded heads using an anvil, and the custom name will persist when you place and break the head.

1. Obtain a head (player head, mob head, or modded head)

2. Place an anvil

3. Put the head in the anvil's input slot

4. Type your desired name in the text field

5. Take the renamed head from the output slot

6. Place the head anywhere in the world

7. Break the head — it will retain your custom name

Why This Matters

Without this mod, renamed heads would revert to their original name when broken and picked up again. Head Name Fix ensures your custom names are saved permanently, just like renamed chests or banners. This is especially useful for decoration, organization, or creating themed displays with uniquely named heads.
