How to Store Items in Cupboards, Drawers, and Nightstands

Several Handcrafted blocks are not just decorative — they hold items, which makes them useful in survival bases as well as builds.

Which blocks store things

Cupboards, Drawers, and Nightstands are the storage-oriented pieces. A Cupboard is a tall cabinet, a Drawer is a low chest-like block, and a Nightstand is a small bedside unit. Each is crafted from planks in the wood of your choice, so storage matches your build.

Opening and using them

Place the block, then right-click it to open its inventory. Move items in and out the same way you would with a vanilla chest. Because they are full blocks, you can stack them side by side along a wall to create a storage wall that looks intentional rather than a row of chests.

Organizing a base

Use Cupboards for bulk goods (cobblestone, food, spare planks) and Drawers for frequently grabbed items near your crafting area. Nightstands belong next to a Fancy Bed and are ideal for torches, food, and a spare tool so you do not have to walk to a chest when you wake up.

Tips

Label your storage by wood type or by placing a Shelf above each unit with a representative item on it. If you are short on planks, build storage first and decorate later — the storage blocks are the most functional part of the mod.
