Decorating Walls with Trim, Shelves, and Trophies
Handcrafted's small decorative pieces are what turn a boxy room into something that looks built rather than dumped. This guide covers the wall-detail blocks.
Corner and Pillar Trim
Corner Trim and Pillar Trim are thin strips that attach to block edges. Corner Trim is meant for inside and outside corners where two walls meet; Pillar Trim runs vertically along a wall to suggest a support column. They come in wood types and in stone variants like Andesite. Place them by right-clicking the target block face — they snap to the edge rather than occupying a full block.
Shelves
A Shelf is a thin horizontal board you mount on a wall. It holds displayed items, so put a Berry Jam Jar, a tool, or a trophy on it. Line several Shelves up at the same height for a library or pantry wall.
Trophies
Bear Trophy is a wall-mounted head. Place it high on a wall in a lodge, dining room, or above a fireplace. It is purely decorative but reads as a centerpiece.
Putting it together
Frame a room by running Pillar Trim up each corner, adding Corner Trim where walls meet the ceiling, and spacing Shelves evenly between them. Keep to one or two materials so the detail does not become noise.
