Building a Matching Dining Set with Tables, Benches, and Chairs
Handcrafted really shines when you combine its furniture into a coherent room rather than placing single blocks. A dining set is the easiest place to start.
Pick a wood type first
Decide on one wood (oak, spruce, birch, acacia, bamboo, etc.) and craft every piece from it. The mod generates a full family per wood: table, dining bench, chair, side table, counter, cupboard, drawer, nightstand, shelf, desk, couch, and fancy bed. Sticking to one wood keeps the grain and color consistent.
Lay out the table
Place a Table block in the center of the room. Tables are typically one block tall and act as the anchor. Put Chairs on the long sides and a Dining Bench on one or both ends — benches seat multiple players along a single block line, which saves space in narrow rooms.
Add storage and detail
Tuck a Cupboard or Drawer against a wall for storing dishes and ingredients. A Counter along one wall reads as a kitchen pass-through. Use Corner Trim and Pillar Trim on the room's corners and doorframes to frame the space; these are thin decorative pieces that snap onto block edges and make plain walls look finished.
Lighting and finishing
Hang a lantern or two above the table and place a Shelf on the wall for jars like Berry Jam Jar. The whole set takes only a stack or two of planks.
