Customizing What the Compass HUD Shows and How It Looks
Editing the Format String
The guiCompassFormat setting controls exactly which pieces of information appear. It supports placeholders for facing direction (F) and the X, Y, Z coordinates. You can rearrange them, drop the ones you do not need, and add your own separators or labels between them.
Steps to Change the Display
1. Open the mod config and find guiCompassFormat.
2. Edit the string so it contains only the placeholders you want. For example, keep just the direction if you only care which way you face, or keep coordinates only if you navigate by numbers.
3. Add spaces, commas, or brackets between placeholders to make the readout readable.
4. Save the config and confirm the change in-game.
Styling the Text
Use drawTextShadow to toggle the drop shadow. Turning the shadow off gives a cleaner look but can make text hard to read over bright terrain. The RGB_R, RGB_G, and RGB_B settings let you pick a custom text color; choose something that contrasts with the area you play in most. If the text vanishes against snow or sky, raise the contrast or re-enable the shadow.
