Building a Base Inside Grim Kingdoms Ruins
Choosing Your Location
Towers and isolated structures make excellent bases—they're defensible and require minimal modification. Avoid areas with heavy mob spawning initially; clear and light them thoroughly first. Citadels and castles offer more space but require more work to secure.
Clearing and Securing Space
Remove hostile mobs by lighting dark areas with torches and slabs. Seal off unnecessary doorways and corridors with blocks to reduce spawn points. Focus on one section at a time rather than trying to secure an entire fortress immediately.
Structural Modifications
The existing stone walls provide excellent defense. Repair damaged sections with matching blocks. Add your own rooms for storage, crafting, and sleeping. Use the existing architecture as a framework—this saves resources and maintains aesthetic consistency.
Logistics and Expansion
Establish a safe perimeter first with torches and walls. Create clear pathways between your base and the outside world. Once secure, expand inward gradually. Use the fortress's natural compartments (rooms, towers, courtyards) as separate functional areas for different activities.
