How to Read Grim Anticheat Violation Reports
What a Violation Report Contains
When Grim flags a player, the report tells you which check triggered, the player involved, and the specific action that caused the detection. Understanding these fields is essential before you take action against anyone.
Interpreting the Check Name
Each check targets a category of behavior. Movement checks cover speed, flight, and teleport-like motion. Combat checks cover reach, aim patterns, and attack timing. World interaction checks cover
things like fast breaking or placement. The check name tells you what the anticheat believes the player did wrong, not proof that they cheated.
Reading the Numbers
The report includes values such as the player's measured speed, distance, or angle compared to what is expected. A single outlier can be caused by lag, server lag spikes, or legitimate mechanics like elytra, ice, or pistons. Look for repeated violations across multiple ticks rather than one-off spikes.
Before You Punish
Cross-reference the timestamp with your server logs. Check whether the player was in a lag-prone area or using a legitimate feature. If the same check fires consistently over time, that is much stronger evidence than an isolated flag. Use the report as a starting point for investigation, not as a verdict.
