Set Up Custom Greetings for First-Time Players

Create a Special Welcome for New Players

Greeter Bro Mod automatically detects when someone joins your server for the first time and can send them a different message than returning players. This lets you give new members a warm, personalized introduction.

How to Configure

1. Open your mod's configuration file (usually in your .minecraft/config folder or server config directory)

2. Look for the section labeled first-time greetings or new player messages

3. Write your custom greeting text. Use the %player% placeholder to insert the joining player's name automatically

4. Example: "Welcome to our world, %player%! Check out the rules in /rules and ask for help anytime"

5. Save the file and reload your server or restart Minecraft

6. When a new player joins, they'll see your custom message instead of the standard greeting

Tips

  • Keep first-time messages friendly and informative—include server rules or helpful commands
  • Test with a friend joining on a fresh account to verify the message displays correctly
  • You can have different messages for new players versus returning players in the same config file
