Recover Items from a Grave After Dying to a Boss

Locating Your Grave

After dying to a Cataclysm boss, look for the grave blocks left behind in the arena. With this data pack installed, the grave structure will still be standing even if the boss attacked it.

Retrieving Your Items

1. Return to the death location after respawning

2. Find the grave blocks — they mark where your items are stored

3. Break the grave to access the items inside

4. Collect your gear from the ground

Why This Matters

Without this data pack, boss attacks would destroy the grave blocks, scattering your items randomly across the fight arena. Items can fall into lava, water, or be pushed far away, making recovery difficult or impossible. With protection active, your grave stays intact as a safe container.

Multiplayer Considerations

On servers, losing items to grave destruction is permanent — there's no command to restore them. This data pack ensures your hard-earned equipment stays recoverable, making boss fights less punishing and multiplayer survival more fair.
