Set Up Emissive Textures to Display Correctly

Install a Compatible Mod

The Glowing Ores and Blocks Resource Pack requires additional software to render emissive layers. You need either OptiFine or the Continuity mod installed alongside the pack.

  • OptiFine is a standalone optimization mod that includes emissive texture support
  • Continuity is a lighter alternative that specifically handles connected textures and emissive rendering

Both work equally well; choose based on your performance needs and other mods you're using.

Load the Resource Pack

1. Place the resource pack file in your .minecraft/resourcepacks folder

2. Launch Minecraft and open Options > Resource Packs

3. Find the Glowing Ores and Blocks pack in the available list

4. Click the arrow to move it into the active packs section

5. Confirm the pack loads (you may need to restart the game)

Verify Emissive Effects

Enter a dark cave or mine at night. Ore blocks and decorative blocks should emit a bright glow even in complete darkness. If blocks appear normal with no glow, check that OptiFine or Continuity is enabled in your mods folder and that the resource pack is active in your world settings.
