Use Glowing Ores Without Shader Mods

Understand the Mod's Independence

Glowing Emissive Ores Definitive Edition works on its own—it doesn't require Optifine, shader mods, or any external lighting enhancement. The glow effect is built into the ore textures themselves using emissive mapping.

Install and Launch

Simply have the mod installed in your mod folder. Launch Minecraft normally with your regular settings. No special graphics options or shader configuration is needed.

Verify Glow is Working

Enter a dark cave or mine at night. Ores should visibly glow without any additional mods active. If you don't see the glow:

  • Check that the mod is properly loaded (verify in your mod list)
  • Ensure you haven't disabled specific ores in the settings menu
  • Confirm brightness is set to a visible level

Combine with Other Mods (Optional)

While not required, you can still use this mod alongside shaders or other visual mods. The emissive effect will work independently. If you use shaders, you may need to adjust the mod's brightness slider to avoid over-brightening ores.

This makes the mod perfect for players who want glowing ores without the performance cost of shader mods.
