Make Water Reflections More or Less Noticeable

Locating Reflection Settings

Glistening Water Shaders creates reflective water surfaces that mirror the sky and surroundings. The intensity of these reflections can be adjusted to match your preference.

Increasing Reflection Strength

In your shader configuration, find settings labeled "reflection strength," "specular intensity," or "shine amount." Increasing these values makes water surfaces more mirror-like and shiny, especially noticeable when sunlight hits the water at an angle. This creates a more dramatic, visually striking effect.

Decreasing Reflections

If reflections feel too bright or distracting, lower these values. Subtle reflections still improve water appearance over vanilla while keeping the focus on your world rather than the water's surface.

Testing in Different Conditions

Reflections are most visible during daytime with clear skies. Test your changes at different times of day—reflections will be stronger when the sun is high and weaker at sunrise or sunset. Try adjusting settings, then load a world and observe water from multiple angles to see how the changes feel in actual gameplay.
