Adjust Water Clarity and Transparency

Finding Water Settings

Glistening Water Shaders includes options to control how clear or opaque your water appears. Access the shader configuration through your shader settings menu (usually opened with a key like O or through your launcher's shader options).

Tuning Transparency

Look for settings related to water depth, fog distance, or transparency values. Increasing transparency lets you see deeper into oceans and rivers, making underwater exploration easier. Decreasing it creates murkier, more atmospheric water that hides the ocean floor.

If you want water to feel more realistic, reduce transparency slightly—real water isn't perfectly clear. For creative building or finding underwater structures, increase clarity to see further down.

Testing Your Changes

After adjusting settings, load into a world with varied water depths. Stand at the surface of an ocean and look down, then move to deeper areas. Compare how far you can see. If the effect feels too extreme, make smaller adjustments and test again. Your ideal setting depends on your playstyle and hardware—clearer water may impact performance slightly on older systems.
