How to Use Glass Slabs and Combine Glassential Blocks in Builds
Glassential Renewed adds Glass Slabs alongside its doors, trapdoors, panes, and special glass blocks. Slabs are the missing piece for detailed glass builds — half-height glass lets you make railings, steps, and layered windows that full blocks cannot.
Crafting and placing Glass Slabs
Craft Glass Slabs the same way you craft vanilla slabs, using glass in the recipe. Place them like any slab: top half, bottom half, or double. They are transparent, so they work as glass railings, glass stairs, and glass trim around windows.
Combining blocks for builds
Mix Glass Slabs with Colorable Glass and Colorable Stained Glass to build tinted windows with slab sills. Use Ethereal Glass Slabs (if your version includes them) for walk-through railings. Pair Ghostly Glass Panes with Glass Slabs for layered, spectral windows.
Redstone and doors
Glass Doors and Glass Trapdoors can be opened with redstone like vanilla doors. Glass Slabs do not conduct redstone, so use them as decorative covers over redstone lines rather than as signal carriers. Ethereal Glass blocks are walk-through, so do not use them where you need a solid collision box for a redstone component.
Build checklist
1. Pick a glass variant for the main panel. 2. Add slabs for sills and railings. 3. Add panes for dividers. 4. Add a door or trapdoor for the entrance. 5. Recolor with the Glassential Brush if using Colorable variants.
