How to Use Ethereal Glass and Ethereal Reverse Glass (Walk-Through Glass)

Ethereal Glass is the headline feature of Glassential Renewed: glass you can walk through. Ethereal Reverse Glass is the opposite — glass you can walk through only from one side. Both come as blocks, panes, doors, and trapdoors.

Ethereal Glass

Place Ethereal Glass like any normal glass block. Players and mobs pass straight through it as if it were air, but it still blocks light the way glass does and still looks solid from a distance. This makes it perfect for secret entrances, one-way-looking walls, and mob-proof windows that you can step through.

Ethereal Reverse Glass

Ethereal Reverse Glass is directional. The side you place it from behaves differently from the opposite side, so one face lets entities through and the other does not. Rotate it with a wrench-like tool or by re-placing it until the passable face points where you want. Test it by walking into each side before you build it into a wall.

Doors and trapdoors

Ethereal Glass Doors and Trapdoors open and close normally but are transparent. Ethereal Reverse Glass Doors and Trapdoors combine the directional pass-through behavior with the door mechanic, which is useful for hidden rooms where you want a door that only works from inside.

Build tips

Use Ethereal Glass for mob-farm viewing windows you can step through, and Reverse variants for one-way exits in adventure maps or secret bases.
