Optimize Server Memory on Windows Systems

Windows Memory Optimization Features

GcGo Mod includes special memory handling for Windows servers. Beyond standard garbage collection, it attempts to return physical memory to the operating system after mod loading completes.

How It Works

1. Automatic activation — No configuration needed; Windows-specific optimization runs automatically during startup

2. Physical memory release — The mod signals the Windows system to reclaim unused RAM that was temporarily allocated by mods

3. Post-startup effect — Memory optimization occurs after all mods finish initializing, so your server won't experience stuttering during startup

Expected Results

On Windows systems, you should observe:

  • Lower memory usage in Task Manager after the server fully loads
  • Reduced baseline RAM consumption compared to running without the mod
  • More available system memory for other processes

The exact amount freed depends on how much temporary data your mod collection generates during initialization. Servers with many mods typically see more noticeable improvements.
