Set Up Dynamic Reward Pools for Gateway Clears

Creating Reward Pool Scripts

Reward pools define what loot players receive after completing gateway waves. Instead of static drops, you can create dynamic pools that vary based on performance, wave difficulty, or custom conditions.

In your KubeJS script, register a reward pool and attach it to your gateway pearl. Define multiple reward tiers or conditions:

  • Wave-based rewards – different items drop after wave one versus wave five
  • Performance bonuses – faster clears grant rare items
  • Conditional drops – only award certain loot if players meet specific criteria

Triggering Rewards

Use the gateway.wave.end event listener to check conditions and spawn items. You can also grant experience, advancement progress, or temporary status effects as rewards.

Test your reward pool by completing waves and verifying that correct items appear. Adjust drop rates and item selections to match your arena's difficulty and theme. Consider balancing rewards so players feel incentivized to replay harder gateways.
