Smelt Scavenged Items Back Into Materials

Furnace Recycle Mod adds a simple recycling loop to your furnace: many vanilla items that contain metal can be smelted down to recover part of their raw material. You will not get back everything you spent to craft the item, but you can turn junk and scavenged loot into something useful.

The mechanic is straightforward. Place a metal-containing item in a furnace and fuel it as usual. Instead of the item being wasted, the furnace returns a smaller amount of metal. The exact output depends on the item: some give ingots, others give nuggets.

Examples from the mod include smelting a bell for a gold ingot, a minecart for an iron ingot, and tripwire hooks for iron nuggets. Rails found in mineshafts and bells found in villages are good candidates, since they are common and otherwise easy to ignore.

This makes furnaces a quiet but effective way to stretch resources on long playthroughs.
