How to Stop Infected Mobs from Spreading in Your Base
Why Your Base Keeps Getting Infected
Infected Humans spawn naturally, but they also appear when Drowned, Husks, and Zombies become infected. Infected Villagers appear when Villagers and Zombie Villagers are infected. That means any ordinary zombie or villager near your base is a potential conversion event, and a single infected villager inside your walls can snowball into a full outbreak.
Containment Steps
1. Light up and wall off your perimeter. Standard hostile-mob proofing stops the zombie and drowned sources before they can convert.
2. Separate your villager trading hall from the outside world with solid blocks and a double door or airlock. Infected Villagers are melee contact attackers, so they must physically reach a villager to infect it.
3. Kill infected mobs on sight rather than trapping them. A trapped infected villager is still a melee threat to anything you lead past it.
4. If an outbreak starts inside, do not fight in the open. Back into a corridor so only one infected can reach you at a time — contact damage is their only attack, so limiting contact angles is your best defense.
5. After clearing, patrol at night for a few cycles. Re-spawned infected from newly converted zombies are the usual cause of a "cleared" base flaring up again.
Gear Note
Bring the mod's weapons when clearing. They are built for this fight and work with Better Combat, so your swings connect the way you expect.
