How to Cure the Mycelium Infection in Fungal Infection Spore Mod

Understanding the Infection

When an Infected Human or Infected Villager lands a hit on you, you receive the Mycelium Effect. This is the mod's core debuff and it will not simply tick away like a vanilla potion effect — it spreads and worsens if left alone. Watch your status icons after any fight with infected mobs and treat a fresh Mycelium stack as a priority, not an afterthought.

Steps to Remove It

1. Retreat from combat immediately. Every additional hit from an infected mob stacks or refreshes the effect, so curing yourself mid-fight is wasted effort.

2. Check whether the mod adds a cure item or brew in your installed version. If a cure exists, it is typically consumed like a potion or applied directly — read the item tooltip in your inventory rather than guessing.

3. If no cure item is available to you, isolate yourself. Move to a safe, enclosed space away from villagers and other mobs so you do not spread the infection while the effect runs its course.

4. Avoid sleeping or trading while infected — infected villagers can convert, and you do not want to be adjacent when that happens.

5. Once cured, disinfect your surroundings: kill or avoid any infected mobs lingering near your base, since re-infection is the most common failure.

Prevention

Wear the mod's armor set when clearing infected areas. The armor exists specifically to blunt contact damage from infected mobs, which is the delivery method for the Mycelium Effect.
