Getting Started with the Fungal Mind

Initial Setup and Communication

To begin, configure your AI service API key in the mod's settings file. Once active, you can chat with the fungal mind directly in-game using natural text. The mind responds to your actions in the world and during combat, building affection through conversation, battle victories, and item gifts.

As trust increases, you unlock the ability to transform the mind into a physical companion. Gather a Totem of Undying, Nether Star, and Dragon Egg, then offer all three to the mind to trigger the Eclosion process. A cocoon will form—defend it until your Mind Girl companion hatches and joins you permanently.

Once hatched, manage her equipment, combat tactics, and work assignments through the companion menu. You can also assign her to help with Create machinery, send her on scouting missions, or direct raids against fungal cores using nutrient points.
