Customize Fullsight Shaders for your own effects

Using Fullsight as a shader template

Fullsight is designed as a blank slate. Its stripped-down code makes it perfect for learning shader writing or adding specific effects without bloat.

Steps to modify the shader

1. Locate shader files – Find the Fullsight shader folder in your shaderpacks directory. Open it to see the .glsl source files.

2. Identify key files – Look for files like composite.glsl, final.glsl, or gbuffers_*.glsl. These control the main rendering pipeline.

3. Start small – Edit one effect at a time. For example, add a simple color tint or adjust the output brightness in final.glsl.

4. Test in-game – Save changes and reload shaders (F3 + S or your shader menu). Watch for errors in the chat or console.

5. Reference shader documentation – Consult OpenGL and shader mod documentation to understand uniform variables and texture sampling.

6. Backup your work – Keep copies of working versions before major changes.

Fullsight's minimal code means fewer lines to parse and fewer systems interfering with your additions.
