Maintain Fullbright While Using Shaders or Other Visual Mods
Compatibility Challenges
Fullbright SP is a resource pack, not a shader mod. Shader mods (like Optifine shaders) can override or conflict with fullbright's brightness adjustments, causing darkness to return.
Using Fullbright with Shaders
If you want both fullbright and shaders, load Fullbright SP after your shader pack in the resource pack menu. However, shaders often recompute lighting independently, which may cancel fullbright's effect.
Test your setup in a dark cave. If darkness returns, your shader is overriding the fullbright settings. Some shader packs have their own brightness or gamma options—adjust those instead of relying solely on the resource pack.
Best Practices
Consider whether you truly need both. Many players choose:
- Fullbright SP alone for maximum brightness and performance
- Shaders alone for visual quality (and use torches/night vision)
- A compromise: fullbright + lightweight shaders that don't heavily modify lighting
Test combinations in your world before committing to a long session.
